Here explains procedures for upgrading the Windows Explorer plug-in for the RDC-i700.

The plug-in comprises the following four applications, as follows:
  • Explorer Plug-in
  • Direct transmission program:receive data from RDC-i700
  • USB driver
  • TWAIN driver
  • 1. Procedures
    Obtain the latest Explorer Plug-in version from the download page. (section 2-1). After uninstalling the previous version (section 2-2), install the latest version (Paragraph 2-3)

    1-1. Preparation
    The driver will require at least 6MB of free disk space. Place the file from the home page's download site on your PC and extract.
    1-2. Uninstalling Explorer Plug-in
    Note: Uninstalling will run automatically if you install the newest version without manually uninstalling the previous version.
    (1) Close all applications first.
    (For RDC-i700 USB/serial processing, click the icon above the task bar at the bottom of the screen to display the dialog box. The process is complete when you close the box.
    (2) Click the right mouse button on the RDC-i700 icon in the Explorer folder display and click the “Disconnect” from the submenu.
    (3) “Add/Remove Programs” in the control panel.
    (4) Choose “RDC-i700 Explorer Plug-In” and click the “Add/Remove” button. The software will be uninstalled.
    (5) After uninstallation, a restart message appears. Click “Done” and restart your PC.
    1-3. Software installation
    (1) Click the folder of the software downloaded under the preparation section to
    (2) Disk 1 to Disk 3 folders are displayed.
    (3) Disk 1 folder and you will see a file called Setup.exe. Double click this file to install.
    (4) You see a language selection window. Click the “OK” button.
    (5) This runs the installation Wizard.
     
    (6) Click the “Next” button in the window below.
    (7) If you want to install in the folder below, click the “Next” button.
     
    (8) This shows the setup type. Normally, just click the “Next” button.
     
    (9) Just click the “Next” button.
     
    (10) You will see this display during installation.
     
    (11) This is the Insert disk request window. Change from “1” to “2” and click “OK”.
    (12) This is the completion window. Click the “Done” button.
     

    An RDC-i700 icon is created in the Explorer folder display once installation is complete.
