Three Precepts of Environmental Protection form Ricoh's Thinking

Ricoh Green Mark
Ricoh's "Recycling Orbit" Concept
In the real world, reuse and recycling is a complex series of processes that can best be described as a series of orbits:
Materials reuse:the blue orbit
Parts reuse:the green orbit
Product reuse:the red orbit
Different orbits for different items means greater overall recycling efficiency. In all of this, Ricoh's goal is to reduce absolute waste to zero. In product design plans, the recycling potential of each part is clearly indicated, providing necessary guidance for that product's recycling stage.
Three types of recycled products
New Manufacturing (NM)

Products assembled from unused parts or with some used parts that have been remanufactured.

Reconditioning (RC)

No recycling takes place, but parts are guaranteed on the basis of pre-determined quality standards; or certain parts are replaced with recycled parts deemed to meet pre-determined quality standards.
Remanufacturing (RM)

Scrapped machines are collected and certain parts that can be guaranteed to be like new are pulled and recycled; or reconditioned parts and assemblies are installed in previously manufactured products.

Note: The Spirio 5000RM is a remanufactured product that moves through the "red" orbit described above.
