High-Precision Plastic Lenses |

1. A pulsating laser beam containing image or text data shines on a revolving mirror and is reflected as radiation to the f lens.
2. The f lens regulates the position and format of the laser beam, and sends it back to the reflection mirror.
3. One line at a time, the sensor forms the image/text data into dot matrix lines.

Like the lenses used with high-end cameras requiring optical properties superior to less expensive cameras, the f lens is made of glass. Since glass is expensive, however, many experiments have been conducted to research the use of plastic lenses. Nonetheless, the fact that plastic is "low precision" has remained a bottleneck.
