Image Communication - Permitting free use of the most appropriate image
information
|
| Image information encompasses far more than just pictures
and shapes drawn on paper. At Ricoh, we consider photographs, sound
and moving images-in short, nearly any information that can be recognized
by the senses of sight and hearing-as image information. We are committed
to developing systems that enable businesses to realize their objectives
by handling the entire range of image information with ease. |
|
When you are on a business trip, for example, it is normal to use spoken
words and/or text to report back to the office on the people you have met,
including something of their appearance and the circumstances of your meetings
with them. Photographs can convey the situation more realistically, however,
and moving images on video or film can come even closer to capturing reality.
Color images are an improvement on black-and-white images, moving images
on still images, and three-dimensional images on two-dimensional images.
If you can add sound and smell, your presentation will be even more convincing.
Of course, cost performance is always a necessary consideration where preparing
business information is concerned. Expanding the range of image information
available for use as described above to permit more effective information
communications is the aim of image communication. In the initial stages,
Ricoh is making the most of its excellent command of digital image management
technology to develop innovative image communications in the areas of text,
screen images and projected images.
