The Japan Industrial Journal and the Sankei Shimbun announced on February 4 that Ricoh won The 12th Grand Prize for the Global Environment Award, hosted by the Japan Industrial Journal. This is the first time for Ricoh to win the grand prize.
The Award aims to promote technological development and to improve corporate awareness of environmental conservation resulting in industrial development in symbiosis with the global environment.
Ricoh was honored for its resolute attitude toward environmental management in order to sustain high-level environmental conservation activities, and for its environmental leadership in Japanese industry.
Among the achievements Ricoh was recognized for are its zero waste-to-landfill activities, global warming prevention efforts, and social contributions, in which the company shows the leadership throughout the world, and its endeavors to improve awareness of environmental conservation issues.
The award ceremony will be held on April 9 at Meiji Kinenkan in Tokyo. His Imperial Highness Prince Akishino, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and other guests are scheduled to attend.
